Haven High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KAYS Club Sponsor to lead and support our student-led service and leadership organization. The Kansas Association for Youth (KAY) is a character-building, leadership-training program directed by the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA), focused on service to school, community, nation, and the world.
The sponsor will mentor students as they plan and carry out meaningful service projects and spirit activities, attend KAY conferences, and grow as leaders and citizens.
Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate regular club meetings and officer planning sessions

Support student-led service projects and leadership development

Encourage inclusive participation from across the student body

Serve as the liaison between the school, KSHSAA, and KAY regional/state leadership

Organize student participation in district and state KAY events and leadership camps

Maintain records of club activities and student involvement

Foster a positive, inclusive, and service-minded club culture

Uphold the mission and vision of Haven High School and the KAY program
Qualifications:

Kansas teaching license or classified staff member with administrative approval

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

A heart for student development, service learning, and school spirit

Previous experience with student clubs, community outreach, or youth leadership (preferred)
